is an SEC-registered real estate investment management and advisory firm with over 33 years of experience investing in real estate assets, real estate joint ventures, and real estate operating companies across a broad range of property types and risk/return profiles. CSCM takes a customized approach to each client relationship and strives to build long term partnerships with a select group of clients by creating and managing investment programs tailored to each client’s unique needs, with consideration for return objectives, risk management, institutional reporting, and governance requirements. Founded in 1991 by Paul Saylor, with origins dating back to 1980 under previous institutional consulting companies, CSCM was formed to advise and represent institutional real estate investors at a time when institutional investment in real estate was in its infancy. The firm initially specialized in the formation and management of programmatic operating joint ventures between institutional investors and value-add real estate development and operating companies. Today, the company provides real estate investment management services spanning a broad array of investment structures and strategies. Since inception the firm has originated and managed a variety of real estate investment programs, including separately managed accounts, operating joint ventures, entity/platform investments in real estate-related companies, and commingled funds, on behalf of institutional investors, including sovereign wealth, Taft Hartley, corporate, and public pension funds.
